2019 Volkswagen Jetta: There’s Never Been a Better Jetta

This new-generation Volkswagen Jetta is by far the most accomplished yet. It’s improved in every way but preserves the features we loved about the previous generation. Thanks to Volkswagen’s new modular MQB platform, the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta will also feature better handling and comfort. It will be a lot more spacious than the model it replaces.
Under the hood, you’ll get a 1.4-litre, turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 147 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. This engine can be paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox or a 6-speed manual transmission.

You may notice that this is the same engine that powered the previous-generation Jetta, and you’d be right! Volkswagen decided to bring it back because it’s both modern and more powerful than other engines found in its segment. Thanks to the 8-speed automatic, it’s also more fuel-efficient.
